Last Call

Mana

Check out this gorgeous hair from D!va.  This is an instore group gift to celebrate 15000+ group members.  You need to activate your group tag and click on the panel at the store.  There is no cost to join the group and on the second floor you can find past group only gifts.  Today’s outfit was based on my new hair.  The long messy side ponytail is quite girly so went for a puffy skirt.  The skirt is actually part of a dress from Shush currently on sale for L$50.  I pulled out a simple top, also part of another outfit.  This one is from Last Call, no longer available.  Last Call is a brand I cherish and still wear.  Despite the outfits being 4-5 years old, they are still very current.  I would think of them as classic pieces.

[ s k i n ] Mango Mango Skins

Sileny Noel from Mango, Mango! sent her new skins as gifts to the SL Bloggers Network group.  Mango, Mango! is a new store to me so I was quite eager to try them on.  What a pleasant surprise!  Overall, I love the face and Sileny offers a good variety of bright and vibrant make ups to choose from.  They are available in two skin tones, pale and tan.  Freckles option is also available. I am not picky about body details, but there is one little body detail that could be better in my opinion.  The shading of the ankles is kind of weird, very blotchy, but nothing that can’t be covered with a good pair of shoes and socks.  After all, at L$150 each, these skins are a bargain.  🙂  Take a look at the make up options available below, shown in tan skin tone with freckles.

Sileny also has a two skins cycling through the lucky board, and three dollarbies (make sure you check out Aqua) at her main store, shown below.

Also, make sure you check out Valentine’s Bazaar.  Sileny has four skins (shown below) at L$50 each at the bazaar which are not available at her mainstore.

[ s k i n ] Loreena Light by Le Pinceau

Le Pinceau is a new store to me.  I discovered it while browsing through the fashion feeds when I saw their skin fatpack sale being extended to July 22.  Being a skin whore I am, I immediately tp-ed to Le Pinceau to check it out.  I was delightly surprised to find some cute skins at very affordable prices, fatpacks of 6-7 skins for only L$950.  All skins are available in three different tones: pale, light, and light tan.

My favorite is Loreena Light.  Look at the cute facial features.  The light freckles on the face and the well defined pouty lips add a fresh and young look.  The body detail is quite realistic, but soft with appropriate shadings.  There are some minor visible seamlines but nothing I can’t overlook.  I wish the eyebrows were darker, but that is my personal preference as I usually wear dark brown or black hair.

Below are the different make up options available.  Note the fatpack sale is till July 22 so hurry if you want to take avantage of the discount.  Also, the poses used for this post are from Diesel Works, currently 40% off on all single modeling pose sets with the exception of the modeling chair for group members.  Be sure to wear the Diesel Works Group tag to get refunded.  The sale runs till July 26th.

[ s t y l e ] My Tribute to Michael Jackson

My Tribute to Michael Jackson

Today I wanted to pay tribute to the king of pop, Michael Jackson.  Like many others, I grew up listening to Michael Jackson’s music.   The first album I bought with my own money was Michael Jackson’s Thriller.  Despite all the controversy over Michael Jackson, one has to respect his contribution to the music industry as well as his generosity.   I spent the weekend listening & dancing to Michael Jackson, so I was inspired to incorporate some of his signature items to my daily look today: black military inspired jacket, black pants, and motorcycle gloves.  Of course, I added my own twist to the look adding a bit of feminine touch with a clutch and jewelry.

[ s t y l e ] Cabana Boy

Cabana Boy

I am still obsessed with straw hats so here I am wearing a short-hair version today.  This Summer promises to be sizzling hot so I put together a comfortable resort look still wearable in the city.  The flowered shirt is from Pure Style called Plumeria.  I received it as a gift from Mimify Loon a while back but never really had a chance to wear it till today.  Thanks Mimify!  The big flower prints put me in a good mood and like her other items the prims are scripted to re-size.  Don’t let those sculpted prims scare you.  I like to mix and match new clothes with old items.  Today I pay tribute to G.L.A.M (also known as Vive La Glam) and Last Call.  Both stores are not present in SL right now, but I hope at least Vive La Glam will return sometime in the future.

[ s t y l e ] Mannish Influence

Mannish Influence

I have an addictive personality.  I recently started playing Mafia Wars on Facebook, a new addiction, and hence the inspiration behind today’s outfit.

I overdid the mannish fashion look by teaming up grey pin stripe pants from Last Call and shirt with tie from JE*Republic.  Although Last Call is no longer available, I often wear pieces from Last Call as it still is one of my favorite clothing brands in SL.  The shirt is a new release from JE*Republic.  It’s unisex and prim tie is included in the set.  I added a vest from Cupcakes and the fedora hair from TorridWear to maximize the mafioso look.  The jacket on the shoulder is a fun item I picked up from Polina Kaestner.  It’s scripted with a hold pose.

For the rest of the outfit, I picked out more feminine options.  The red Chanel-like bag is a gift from my friend Kazunari Mayo.  Unfortunately, it is not available for sale.  The simple red pumps from Maitreya go perfectly with the bag.  For jewelry, I picked out some bold earrings from Opium Everyday and a zebra pattern bangle from +plus.

One last thing, the skin is a preview copy of Naive‘s Camille Skins.  Leah McCullough was really kind to send me some samples.  If you are looking for a more defined facial features, check them out.
