Savannah Nights

One of my friends was recently on a luxurious safari trip to Africa.  She showed me some beautiful pictures from her trip which inspired me to put together this look today.  I wish I had the time and money to go on such a journey in RL.  For now, traveling in SL will have to do.  The outfit I am wearing is from Vero Modero.  I love this avante garde outfit.  It’s a full set which includes the feathered neck piece, leopard print top and pants, and a pair of feathered boots.  The earrings and bangles are not part of the set, but I thought they go quite well with this outfit.  Oh well, I may not be on a safari trip, but at least I have this chic outfit and get to dream while I am wearing it.

Style It! SL Fashion Challenge #1

I recently joined a new flickr group “Style It! – SL Style Challenge” by two SL style icons, Valena Glushenko and Thalia Jie.  Anyone who loves SL fashion and loves creating looks should join.  Each month, the group will have a styling challenge around one fashion item, where group members will be invited to create their own unique look using the specific fashion item of the month.  This month’s item is the diamond eye patch from Baiastice and this is my entry.

When I saw the eye-patch, I knew I wanted to go a bit avant-garde, so I chose a white jacket of Saeya Nyanda’s earlier creations, Kyoot Army’s Straight Jacket Surrealist outfit.  Worn under the jacket is a flirty strapless dress which I created by pulling together pieces from different outfits, the tube top from Artilleri’s Eva Dress and the skirt (prim and glitch pants layer) from Ibizarre’s Bolero Dress.  I added some funky chain bangles from DeLa’s giving it a bit of a rocker feel with sleek boots from Sweetest Goodbye.  The fishnet stockings add a bit of sex appeal to the whole look.  Of course, I did not forget myclutch today, Rock Clutch in Red from +plus, for a pop of color to the whole look.

I stuck with the rocker feel for hair and make-up.  You have seen me in this hair before, but I absolutely love it.  The make up is from LeLutka.  This particular one is no longer available, but any make-up with dramatic eyes would be perfect.
