[ s t y l e ] Vilan

Today I am wearing another amazing creation by Jare Capalini from AU V, a new addition to his upcoming Spring 2009 release to be revealed in May.  While most designers are finding inspiration in flowers, butterflies, and bright colors which are very typical of Spring, Jare’s Spring collection is like no other.  He uses neutral colors, mainly black, grey and whites to create some avant garde pieces.  Thank God we are not constrained by weather in SL.

To complete today’s look I added a wide belt from Style Starts Here and lace up boots from Royal Blue.  I added no other accessories as I felt the clothes made a statement on its own with the exception of my clutch, beautifully embellished with jewels, from Bianca Foulon.

My hair and make up I kept it very high fashion.  The hair is from VintageWear, best place for high fashion hair styles you would see in fashion shows.  The skin I am wearing today is from Kira Ahn.  I fell in love with her Asian skin line, Kim.  I ended up buying all three fatpacks.  After all, I am Asian but own very little Asian skins in my inventory.  I added dramatic lashes from Glow Studio.  These are gifts available at the store.  Glow Studio carries some of the most interesting lashes in the grid, perfect for those beauty shots one would see in a high fashion magazine spread.

[ s t y l e ] A Winter Afternoon In Paris

A Winter Afternoon In Paris

Today I did not mix & match.  I received this stylish dress as a gift from Jare Capalini, designer behind AU V.  I was lucky to get a preview of his new collection inspired by Paris, France.  Jare continues to impress me with his imagination. The upcoming collection is tres chic and sophisticated.  This dress is called “A Winter Afternoon In Paris”.  I absolutely love it and wanted to wear it as is.  I added only some accessories, Blanche Earrings and Bracelet in Gold from Muse, recent purchases from The Armoire.  The bag is from MiamMiam from Viva La Glam, temporarily closed.  Slick short hair and dramatic make-up enhances today’s stylish look.

Join AU V’s in-world group, *AU V shopper*, to find out when the new collection hits the shop!

[ s t y l e ] Ethnic Casual

Ethnic Casual

I have picked up some great ethnic inspired pieces during my trips to different parts of the world.  They add a bit of flavor to my everyday wardrobe making my look a bit more special and unique.

Today I spiced up my SL look with some ethnic touches.  I started off with my new scarf from Runo Runo.  This was a limited time freebie, but there are other colors available for sale at the store.  Like other items in the store, they are extremely affordable.  I picked out my silk print harem pants from AU V and a plain white sleeveless t-shirt from Roll the Dice.  The t-shirt can be tinted any color and it’s available in all layers.   It is versatile, a good basic item for your wardrobe.   I tossed on a denim cropped jacket from Bare Rose for warmth.

Going along with ethnic flavors, I chose to wear my Indian bangles from Yak & YetiYak & Yeti carries clothing and jewelry from Nepal, India and Tibet, all for free.  Make sure you check out this store to add some interesting pieces to your inventory.  The earrings are from Last Call.  They are no longer available, but check out (luc) Fashion Jewelry for similar styles.   The bag is a new release from Bare Rose.  Bellisima reminds me of my everyday bag in RL.  For shoes, I went with an unexpected choice, Gladiator sandals from UnTone Quilt.  Lastly, I decided to wear my aviator sunglasses from Hoorenbeek.  These were a previous gift.  Fully scripted version (3 colors, 2 kinds of shades on each color, 2 frame options) is available at the store.

A casual ponytail from ETD and one of my favorite make-ups from Cupcakes Lovespell finish off today’s casual look.   This look is very me.  Oh I can’t wait for warmer days so I can wear this look in RL~
