Summer is nearing an end in my part of the world… we have been getting so much rain and the temperatures have dropped. I am hoping for some days of warm dry weather to enjoy the last days of summers. This may well be my last post wearing a bathing suit this season so I chose a cheerful nautical theme. My ruffled bikini is from Apple Heart, worn with a stripe cardigan from Coco. The stripe straw bag is very old, pre-mesh era from Saikin. It’s one of the few non-mesh bags that survived my recent inventory clean out. I just love it so much… it’s a keeper.
Moe Moe Kyuun is a place I stumbled upon and it was cuteness overload. Everything is so pink! If you are into kawaii and cuteness, this is place for you to hang out. There is a small swimming pool you can relax and have fun, a communal bath area, as well as a club, decorated with characters of Japanese manga and pastel color furniture & decor. I chose to wear my new bikini set from Bare@Rose for the occasion. The set comes with a striped bikini, matching pareo, slippers, necklace and bracelets. I am wearing the blue combo. There is a cream color combo also included in the set so you can pick and choose. The hair is also new from Monso, loving the little pastel beads. You can change the colors of the beads via HUD provided if you prefer other colors. The make up is an old release from alaskametro<3 called “Sugar”. I thought it went perfectly with the theme today.
I forgot to bring my swimsuit to Spain and I am in desperate need to go shopping for one. There is this great public outdoor swimming pool right around the corner and I am missing out on all the fun. Hopefully by tomorrow, I will be blogging in between swims and sunbathing. Life is good in Spain… so relaxing! Anyways back to SL, don’t forget to check out The Aloha Fair. The Aloha Fair closes door in a couple of days on August 11. Today, I am modeling some of my picks from the fair: the gorgeous tye die bikini from Artizana, and embellished jewel earrings from IT!
Haenyeo (해녀) or sea women are female divers in Jeju Island in Korea. Jeju Island is the largest island off the coast of the Korean peninsula known for its mild climate even in winter, a popular tourist destination for Koreans. Haenyeos are known to drive without air tanks. Their diving gear consist of a wetsuit, goggles, flippers, gloves, chest weights, L-shaped weeding hoe, and a net tied to a flotation device. They harvest abalone, octopus, sea urchins, oysters, etc. It is a profession which is declining with modernization but still highly respected. My look today is not a perfect recreation of haenyeo but when I saw this wetsuit from Bare@Rose I knew I wanted to dedicate my post to them.

I am recycling one of my favorite swimsuits from Vero Modero for this post. It was released last year, but I still love it. The mesh swimsuit is not fit for Maitreya, but the standard size mesh fits me well so I have been wearing it quite a bit. It comes with a color HUD which allows me to tint it any color I would like which is really convenient and an added plus.
