[ s t y l e ] Bromelia

Bromelia is the name of the jewelry set I am wearing today.  AvaGardner Kungler was inspired by the Amazonian flora to create some gorgeous statement jewelry for her new business endeavor, Kunglers Extra.  Meticulous in detail and extremely well crafted, Bromelia is not an everyday jewelry.  Don’t underestimate the power of accessorizing and spice up your favorite little black dress to give it a fresh new look.

[ s t y l e ] Fairy Ballerina

Enchanting and delicate, just like a fairy princess, the new collaboration by Sparkle Skye and Alienbear Gupte is simply exquisite.  It’s so dreamy.  I feel like a ballerina in fantasy dream.  The dress is so romantic with endless ruffles of delicate lace and the jewelry is luxurious with lots of sparkle.  The dress actually has lots of options (different skirt types and sleeve lengths), but I am sticking to my ballerina look for today.

[ s t y l e ] Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Today’s look is a result of mix & matching items I picked up this weekend from a lot of different Valentine’s sales and events.  I tried to stay away from lingerie and all red outfits, but still create a look to celebrate this day of love!

By the way, the boots are a gift from my dear friend SerinaJane.  They are absolutely gorgeous!  Thanks SJ~

[ s k i n ] Liz by JE*Republic

Liz is a new release from JE*Republic.  Jungeun Vella was sweet to send me some samples in mid skin tone which is my usual skin color.  Anyways, Liz has a sweeter and more feminine face.  It comes in a variety of make ups which are much more colorful that her other skins.  Sweet pinks, bright oranges, spring greens, etc. are some of the colors she uses for her make ups in this skin line, which are perfect for the upcoming Spring/Summer.  The only thing that bugs me about these skins are the nipples.  Not sure what to think of the reddish brown nipples, but like I have said many times for me the face is what matter to me the most when choosing a skin.  I hardly get naked in SL®!  Jungeun’s great with smokey make ups.  Go to her store and pick up some demos for yourself!

[ s k i n ] Inanna Vernissage by LeeZu! and LionSkins

Lately, I have been wearing my Inanna-Vernissage skins to work at LeeZu! and have become very fond of them.  Inanna is a collaboration between two of the most talented designers in SL®, LeeZu Baxter of LeeZu! and Lion Jonesford of LionSkins.  Both designers have often worked closely in numerous projects previously, but none to this scale.

At first, I found the skins a bit strange.  Being used to perfect complexions and smooth skins in SL®, with the exception of cute freckles, I did not find the wrinkles around the eyes attractive.  Then it hit me, how most of us portray our own ideal image of beauty in SL® and usually it is biaised towards youth.  I am in my thirties in RL, and I am starting to see visible signs of aging, which I have embraced and come to love, so why not embrace them in SL® as well?  After all, imperfections are what makes us different.  See below some of my favorite make up choices.

[ s t y l e ] Rocker Princess

Sometimes I like to mix & match items of clothing that may seem like an oxymoron, of contrasting styles.  It makes dressing up much more fun.  Mix a tutu skirt with a studded leather jacket, and be a rocker princess for the day.  Make sure the leather jacket is tight fitting so it enhances the volume of the skirt.

[ s t y l e ] Dramatic Black

Who said black was boring?  Dramatic shapes and volumes with rich flower decor make this look one of my favorites.  The starting point of today’s look is the little black dress from Kunglers, a recent addition to my wardrobe, courtesy of Barbra Kungler.  Thank you Barbra!  Accessorize to the max with a gorgeous hat, similar in texture to the dress, and statement jewelry to maximate the dramatic effect.

Note poses used for this post are from Diesel Works’ new release, Piper Set.  These are another great set of poses.  They smooth into position so they can be used on the runway!
