It was not long ago I dressed up as Queen Padme of Star Wars. Today I bring you more Star Wars with this new outfit from Ignition Art, “Sith Outfit”. I love dressing up, costume, fantasy… and I have been pondering if I should change my blog to dedicate to fantasy and role play exclusively. However, I don’t want to limit myself as there is no clear style that defines me. Anyways, this outfit cannot be worn separately. The hoodie, top, pants, and boots are one single mesh. There is a long sleeve option as well. It’s also available in red color. The gloves are also new from Ignition Art. It’s for men, but there are lots of sizes available. I am wearing extra small and it fits fine. The weapon I am carrying is free. I picked them up at Jomo. As I mentioned in a previous post, there are lots of free weapons (swords, knives, sticks, etc.) available at a corner near the main store. They are not scripted with any poses or animation, but they are good props for pictures. I am using staff poses from Jinx. By the way, I have decided to highlight free items in credits below with a *FREE* tag. After all, everyone loves a bargain.
I am in love with this crochet lace overlay dress from alaskametro<3. It comes with a HUD which allows you to change the background color of the dress: one color is the same as the crotchet, one is ivory (worn above), one is beige, and one is a darker camel color. It can be worn alone as a dress, but I chose to wear some boot cut jeans under it. The dress can be found at anyBODY this month. The pair of jeans are from Somnia. They are free at Free Dove.
alaskametro<3 also released some beautiful nail polish and eye make-up at On9. As you know, I wear alaskametro<3 make up and nail appliers a lot. They are by far one of my favorite make up artists in the grid. Check out the nail art above, you can choose to wear all five designs at once, even on Maitreya hand. You can always choose to wear one single design, but it’s trendier to wear mix-match nail art! For closer look of the eye make-up, take a look below. How gorgeous is that? I absolutely love it. The other color choices that come with the nail applier HUD and eye-make up HUD are gorgeous as well. I am sure I will be wearing them quite often. :)
The day after Lunar New Year family gatherings is time for some quite me time and rest. Family gatherings although quite fun, can be exhausting especially if you have a large family. Just think about all the cooking, the number of dirty dishes, the clean up that follows… Tiring! I am spending the day at home, stay home beauty spa day starting off some pilates exercises, followed by a bath, some facial masks, hair treatments, manis & pedis, and lots of good movies.
Check out my new nails. These are from Hapi*Rabi, Add Some Red Hunt 3 hunt item. They look so cute on the toes too. The outfit I am wearing is also free, February gift from Ch’s. Make sure to pick these up. Anyways, enjoy the rest of the day. I am going back to my at home self-beauty spa day.
Happy Lunar New Year! As many of you know already a number of Asian countries celebrate Lunar New Year. Korea is no exception and we get three days off. It’s one of the most significant traditional Korean holidays, and many of us return to our hometowns to visit our parents and relatives. It’s typically a family holiday, similar to Thanksgivings in the US. Anyways, I am wearing a modern interpretation of hanbok, traditional Korean garments. The skirts of traditional hanbok are longer, covering the feet. This modern version is shorter. The geometric prints in black and white are very modern too. The hat, known as gat, were traditionally worn by men. No one wears them anymore, but I was inspired by Carolina Herrera’s 2011 Ready to Wear Spring Collection. The collection was largely inspired by traditional Korean clothes, and I thought it was quite cool to see these hats down the runway. Oh well, I have a long day ahead of me… We have fairly big family and it will be quite rambunctious with all the kids! Happy Year of the Monkey!
CDA is one of the participating stores in Add Some Red Hunt 3. Unlike other designers and stores, its hunt gift is not Valentine’s inspired, but it’s this red soccer outfit for men and women. I thought it would be fun to do something different for my post today, play some soccer or at least pretend to! I actually have no talent whatsoever for sports, but in SL it doesn’t matter. The outfit comes with mesh socks and soccer sneakers, but they didn’t fit my mesh body and feet well, so I added my own socks and sneakers instead. The socks are applier clothing from Girl Thursday. The sneakers, I picked them up from Big O in marketplace. I am sure some of you are curious about the poses I used for my post today. Unfortunately I picked these up years ago from Milestone Creations, and I am not sure if they are still available. Anyways, one thing to note about Add Some Red Hunt, the main organizer Fiona Scofield apparently is having difficulties accessing Internet, thus the main website has not been updated. Please click here for a temporary website, where you can see the hunt gifts, participating stores, and hints for the hunt. The hint for for CDA is “Use me to get a cab, or a Pizza!”.
“Farah” is a new release from The Beautiful Ones, and it is one of the most well made evening dresses I have seen. The texture is just beautiful. The photos unfortunately do not do justice. They failed to capture all the sparkle of the dress… Make sure you have advanced lighting option on and you will see how beautiful it is. It comes with a HUD which enables you to choose from 21 different colors. I also love the cut of the dress. The cut out on the waist line gives the illusion of a thinner waist line, creating a more curvaceous shape. This dress is definitely a keeper. Now, I just need an occasion to wear it! Anyone know of any formal event this week? :P
Growing up, Carnaval was an annual event I looked forward to every year. We didn’t really celebrate Halloween so Carnaval is when everyone dressed up in costumes and enjoyed the festivities. Carnaval is so colorful and vibrant. I loved watching the competition for the Queen of Carnaval, where young women would compete for the crown strutting around in very original costumes… lots of feathers, sparkle & shine.
In Korea, we do not celebrate Carnaval, so I decided to bring the spirit to SL. To no surprise, Bare@Rose had the perfect outfit for the occasion. It’s so colorful and vibrant… love the grandeur of this look! Look at all the colorful feathers~ Bare@Rose is definitely the best place to find costumes! I will make an effort to show you more of my favorite looks from Bare@Rose. I love fantasy but often times I am caught up on mainstream fashion. Perhaps I should set aside a day in the week, where I bring you fantasy… something I should seriously consider. :)
